Getting started

Parley connects in-app support, website chat and Telegram to one inbox. This page gets you from sign-in to your first conversation.

1. Create your account and workspace#

Sign in at parleyai.app/login with Google. Parley creates your account on first sign-in and asks you to name a workspace — usually your company. Teammates join the workspace by invite link.

2. Add an application#

An application is one product your customers use. Choose the platforms it runs on: iOS, Android, React Native, Expo or a website. Each application gets two environments:

  • Development — pk_test_… keys, free, accepts localhost origins, limited to 100 monthly active customers.
  • Production — pk_live_… keys, active with a paid plan.

3. Pick your integration#

  • iOS — Swift package with SwiftUI and UIKit APIs. Native UI, no web view.
  • Android — Kotlin library with a Jetpack Compose support screen.
  • React Native — a TypeScript API that drives the native iOS and Android SDKs.
  • Expo — the React Native package plus a config plugin. Requires a development build (not Expo Go).
  • Website — one script tag.
  • Telegram — connect a bot token in the dashboard. No code.

4. Identify signed-in users#

Without identification every device is an anonymous customer. Call identify after sign-in so conversations follow the user across devices and agents see who they're talking to. In production, sign the user id on your server — see Customers & identity.

Keys at a glance#

pk_live_… Public app key. Ships in apps and websites. Identifies an application environment.
sk_live_… Secret key. Server-to-server API only. Shown once, stored hashed.
idsec_… Identity secret. Server only. Signs user ids (HMAC-SHA256).
Never put a secret key or identity secret in an app bundle, a website or a public repository. Rotate them from the application's Keys tab if one leaks.
